Sentinel Blogs

The Discipleship Blogs are for study, implementing change, and maturing in this issue of Christian discipleship.  Discipleship is not a component of the Christian faith, its the heart and soul of Jesus.  Jesus always referred to his followers in the context of disciples and that it had a cost, (Luke 14), (Matthew 10).  Discipleship radically changes our lives and prioritizes over everything that our relationship with Jesus is healthy and conducted in “Spirit and in Truth.” Jesus last command wasn’t that we create programs, or even build churches, it was to make disciples.  As this becomes our primary emphasis in our life, we will become “Spirit empowered” and the deeds which mark us as servants of Jesus will follow.  Are we excited about developing a right relationship with Jesus as much as we are over "social justice" and service projects?  The Bible has a sobering message for us when our hearts are not in alignment with God's Spirit calling what we think representsgood works as "filthy rags" in the eyes of God (Isaiah 64:6)  Before we can experience the authentic joy promised us by Jesus (John 10) we need to have a solid idea of who we are in Christ, and who God is in the equation of our relationship to His reconciliation and how the Spirit implements the post ressurection ministry of the risen Christ!

THE PLEDGE DISCIPLESHIP PRINCIPLES

The Pledge is your commitment to push deep, to throw off being marginal.  The Pledge is aour commitment to plunge into the journey God has planned for you.  It's not a gimmick, it's not a trend. Its common sense Biblical principles that are part of the Christian's life based on a promise:"Ask and you shall receive, Seek and you shall find, Knock and it will be opened. Are You ready for it?  Matt 7:7-13
